Hanan’s debut album, The Year I Lived, collects twelve songs that weave together elements from pop, rock, R&B and jazz, all filtered through a singer-songwriter lens. And Hanan not only sings and writes, he’s an instrumentalist and studio engineer as well, meaning that the final product practically carries his own DNA. Despite his unusually wide array of influences, Hanan never loses his sense of identity, always making his presence known with unique musical juxtapositions, bound together with his sweet and soft voice. From fuzzy power-pop to piano balladry, Hanan clearly follows traditions, but never formulas.

Hey there,

Hanan has been really busy lately. Not only is he finishing the Willie K album and the Henrik Käthe album, he also finally started preproduction for his 2nd album.

From what we have heard, it is worth the wait to say the least.

Thanks for all your support and interest - 2011 will be a great year!

All the best,

Team Hanan

Don't tell me you love me.
Unless you actually do.

Love - that's one word that gets thrown around way too easily.

It's OK not to say it.

There are a lot of other nice things to say to a person.

Pick one.

Just make sure you mean it.

Those 3 little words come with certain expectations.

Lately, I find myself let down quite often by people who repeatedly tell me they love me as they apologize.

You will be disappointed
I absolutely love most of what Seth Godin publishes.

You should check him out, if you don't already know him.

http://www.sethgodin.com

Today, he wrote the following words, which really resonated with me:

"You will be disappointed.

Sooner or later, you'll ask for something or read something or expect something and you won't like what you get. You'll feel like I wasted your time, wasted your money or didn't meet your expectations.

Not just me, of course. Everyone. Even you. You will disappoint someone, and the organizations you depend on will disappoint you. Expectations keep rising, and promises keep being made. We keep bringing more magic into the world, but rising expectations mean that there's more disappointment as well.

That's part of the deal of being in the world.

The alternative, I'm afraid, isn't to choose a path where we make everyone happy and always exceed their expectations. Nope. The alternative is to hide, to fail to engage and to produce nothing.

A pretty easy choice."
